City Areas
Bologne is divided into lower (basse ville) and upper (haute ville).
The lower town presents the modern part of the city, made up of numerous good food shops and restaurants. It was rebuilt after The Second World War. It contains an aquarium named Nausicaa, also referred to as The National Sea Center, as it’s the biggest one in
Haute Ville
The upper town contains the city’s historic remnants such as the Château de Boulogne-sur-Mer, a 13th century castle built by the son of Phillip II of France which now houses a history museum; and Basilique Notre-Dame, renovated in the 19th century, which houses a middle age crypt .
