• Route du Poisson

Info: This intriguing event commemorates the fish trail which horse-drawn carts and fishmongers used to travel along daily in order to take their fresh fish from Boulogne to Les Halles, the market in Paris.

• La Fête de la Beurière

Info: The Maison de la Beurière, a small museum located in the former seamen’s district of Boulogne-sur-Mer, holds a fest each September to celebrate sea-going traditions through street performances and stalls.

• Herring Festival

Info: Boulogne-sur-Mer celebrates the Hareng-Primeur with a glass of Beaujolais Nouveau. Fishermen and cooks dressed in local costume serve the herring, available smoked or grilled, and entertainment includes Pas-de-Calais folk dancers, local music and sing-along songs.
